The town of Pomfret is currently completing a new recreation park on route 97. It contains a full size baseball field and a full size soccer field.
    The State of Connecticut maintains a large state park in Pomfret with swimming and camping facilities. In addition, many weekly events are scheduled throughout the summer at the park for our families to enjoy. Pomfret residents are also able to enjoy hiking, fishing and horseback riding along the park trails.
    The Airline trail also runs through Pomfret and is designated as part of the East Coast Greenway system, a 2600 mile long trail from Maine to Florida.
     We also have the Windham County 4-H Camp located in our town which will accommodate 40 horses at one time and provides programs for over 150 area youngsters during the months of July and August.
